AMG Lithium is entirely backward-integrated and has full control of all conversion steps starting from hard rock mining – performed by AMG Brazil, which runs the Mibra Mine – to manufacturing of battery-grade Lithium Hydroxide Monohydrate in Bitterfeld-Wolfen, Germany.
The Brazilian site converts crude ore to Lithium Concentrate in a state-of-the-art plant. The conversion from Lithium Concentrate to Lithium Hydroxide and other battery-grade materials will be realized with a two-location strategy: Firstly, a lithium chemical plant for the conversion of spodumene concentrate to technical grade lithium salts to be installed at the Mibra Mine site, and secondly a refining facility for the purification to battery-grade Lithium Hydroxide will be located in Germany.
AMG Brazil operates the Mibra Mine in the federal district of Minas Gerais, Brazil. The mine has been in operation since 1945 and is focused on tantalum, niobium, and lithium concentrates. AMG Brazil is the 100% owner of the mine. For more information, please see the Resources section.
In Brazil, a facility to produce technical grade Lithium Hydroxide will serve as feedstock for our second facility in Germany to produce battery grade Lithium Hydroxide. For more information, see here.

With the upcoming installation of battery cell manufacturing sites in Europe, raw materials such as Lithium Hydroxide are needed for the production of cathode active materials. Our plant in Germany is well-located in the heart of Europe, allowing for short delivery distances and therefore secure sourcing for our customers with a robust supply chain.
